As a retired 75 year old Investment Bank Executive I was becoming weaker with my lower extremities from MS which I have had for years. What was it going to be? A walker, cain, or a wheelchair. Being too proud for any of these I was introduced to a dog trainer who specializes in service dogs.
A few days later after the introduction, K found a dog that she thought would be a good fit for me. She showed up at my house with the most handsome creature I had ever seen. The minute the door was opened Dax made a dash for me with kisses and his own sounds, not barks. The rest is history.
K listened to my needs and customized a training program just for me. Dax now responds to all my cues and
stares at me all day waiting for his next command.
K conditioned Dax to be in any situation. For example we trained at the airport all the way up to security. We even did some of our training at the mall and other various stores to provide Dax will all the real world distractions. She taught him to be social with other dogs when given a specific command. Without the command he must ignore them.
If you are looking for a service dog, K knows what she is doing. Well worth the effort. The animal becomes part of your life so I looked for trust and got it.
